KZN police tracking down suspects in Durban bomb scares
Updated | By Bernadette Wolhuter
Authorities are working to track down those behind a series of hoax bomb scares in Durban yesterday.
At least four incidents were reported - including one at Cornubia Mall in the morning and another at Phoenix SAPS in the afternoon yesterday.
"We had to dispatch our members to have a look at those areas. They've all turned out to be false. The one at the police station gave us a fright - that place was also combed and there was nothing found," Hawks spokesperson, Hangwani Mulaudzi said.
Tensions are high in Durban following the recovery of a number of improvised devices in the city last week.

Mulaudzi says these hoax bomb scares are aimed at instilling fear in the community.
"There are people who need serious assistance. Our members are being diverted to deal with stupid matters. As police, we are giving out a clear call and we will do our best to make sure that those responsible for the hoaxes and bomb threats are brought to book as soon as possible," he said.
