Third Chatsworth murder suspect remanded in custody

A third accused in the murder of a Chatsworth elderly woman will join his co-accused in staying behind bars.
Twenty-eight-year-old, Luvo Mtsezane was arrested in Matatiele in the Eastern Cape on Friday - the same day his co-accused - Thiwe Cele and Bheki Msomi were appearing in court in Chatsworth.
The three are accused of breaking into 72-year-old Jinsee Hairam's Kharwastan home last Tuesday. She was strangled to death.

Her daughter was hurt. She's since been discharged from hospital where she was treated for head injuries.
NPA spokesperson, Natasha Kara says Mtsezane made his first appearance in court today.

"The accused was remanded into custody for a bail application which will take place 27th of February together with the other two accused in the matter," she says.
The other two suspects were nabbed in Greyville and Ndwedwe on Wednesday and Thursday last week.
