Teen killed in Sydenham shooting

A teenager has been gunned down in Durban's Sydenham area. Police say local officers were called out to Barns Road yesterday, where they found the body of the 19-year-old.

It is understood that two suspects opened fire on the man who had been standing on the road.

He sustained three gunshot wounds to the head.

Officers are are still investigating the motive of the attack.

Meanwhile, in a separate case in northern KwaZulu-Natal, police have arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of a 60-year-old teacher in Eshowe.

This after police discovered the decomposed body of Vusumuzi Mlaba.

Mhlaba was last seen alive by his family just over a week ago.

Police say their investigations lead them to Ntumeni, where they found a decomposing body covered with tree branches.

Police officers later arrested two suspects, aged 18 and 21, and recovered a vehicle and a cellphone in Empangeni.

They will be charged for murder and will appear in the Eshowe Magistrates Court soon.
