Teams work to recover vehicle in Sani Pass ordeal
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Recovery teams will head to Sani Pass near Underberg again today to continue with their efforts of trying to pull a vehicle off a steep slope following a crash there on Sunday.
A Ballito couple was lucky to survive after their vehicle slipped down part of the pass at the weekend.
Brigitte Renald and her husband, Nathan had been heading back to their north coast home after visiting the snowy area at the weekend.
Their vehicle came to an uncomfortable rest on a rock about 15 metres down the slope.

Brigitte and Nathan quickly managed to jump out.
Brigitte says they both feared the vehicle would continue to roll down the pass - while they were still inside. She says they managed to get to safety with the help of emergency services.
"We couldn't get it back off the rocks. There is an expert who specialises in that - he says they are going to maybe attempt to get it onto the road.
"The conditions are still very slippery and misty but I don't think I will be going up that mountain again. We will wait at the bottom. We are not sure what condition it's in. We will just have to play it by ear," she said.
