Team tasked to execute Moerane Commission recommendations

The ANC in KZN has assigned a team to implement the recommendations made by the MoeraneCommission of Inquiry into political killings.

Provincial party spokesperson, Nomagugu Simelane-Zulu will lead the team - which also includes John Jeffreys, Mxolisi Kaunda, Cyril Xaba and Nonhlanhla Khoza.
Among the recommendations in the report is for political parties to take responsibility for the killings and to hold members accountable.

At a press briefing in Durban this afternoon, the party's Mdumiseni Ntuli said they were satisfied with the progress made by police in apprehending suspects.
"The report of the Commission and its implication will be tabled to the provincial working committee and thereafter map out a clear implementation plan. We reaffirm our commitment to promote political tolerance, unity, peace, freedom of choice, expression and association in the province," Ntuli said.

The report was released in the provincial legislature last Thursday.
