Suspect due in Durban court for massive weekend drug bust

A suspect is due to appear in a Durban court on drug-related charges on Monday.

The man is in the dock after the Hawks seized pure heroin powder with an estimated street value of R2.3 million this past weekend.
The police had received information about a man who had been distributing heroin in the province.
Crime-fighting units, including members of the Durban Metro Police Drug Team, swooped on his home in Glenwood on Saturday.

They say the 47-year-old, who was stopped and searched, was caught red-handed. He had in his possession a bag containing packs of pure heroin powder.
The man, who's facing drug dealing charges, will appear in the Durban Magistrate's Court on Monday.
