Some Ugu residents still without water

Some south coast residents are still battling without water, a week after KwaZulu-Natal Premier Willies Mchunu stepped in to resolve the crisis.

Mchunu met with residents and other stakeholders last week - before sitting down with Ugu Municipality management and SAMWU representatives to help find a solution to their dispute.

An early morning deal was struck and officials said striking workers would immediately return to their posts and supply would be restored.

The provincial government said after the agreement was signed that it would take some time before the situation returned to normal.
