Water slowly returns to Ugu District
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Water is slowly being restored to communities in the Ugu District after a stand-off between municipal officials and workers - lasting two weeks.
Taps ran dry in several areas on the south coast, with the municipality claiming workers were on an illegal strike. But workers union, SAMWU, maintains its members weren't behind the sabotage.
Both parties reached an agreement last week. The premier said while workers would immediately return to their posts - it would take some time for all the affected areas to receive their full water supply.
