Updated | By Bernadette Wolhuter
The family of the 9-year-old Durban child who was shot in a hijacking and later died says the girl's mother is taking her death extremely hard.
Sadia Sukhraj was with her father when they were attacked by hijackers outside their Shallcross home this morning.
The girl was shot in the stomach and died after being rushed to hospital.
Devika Sukhraj is Sardia's great aunt and says they are all shattered.
She says Sadia was a happy child.
"She just celebrated her birthday on the 25th of February. She was a very bubbly child and she loved her family. She loved people, going out and enjoying herself with her family," she said.
Police are still at on the hunt for a third suspect allegedly involved in a hijacking.
Police say one suspect was killed and another arrested.
