Severe thunderstorms expected in KZN

The South African Weather Service is urging KwaZulu-Natal communities to brace themselves for possible severe thunderstorms later.

The weather service has issued a 'Watch' for areas in northern KwaZulu-Natal and parts of Mpumalanga.
Weather Alert: Durban disaster teams on standby
Forecasters are urging people to remain indoors should storm activity materialise in their areas.Severe storms are expected to continue into tomorrow in the extreme north east of the province.

Maximum temperatures at most stations will remain in the mid to low twenties tomorrow:
Durban, Pietermaritzburg, Mooi River, Ulundi and Margate - 21
Richards Bay - 24
Underberg and Kokstad - 23
Newcastle and Ladysmith - 28
Giants Castle - 22
