Strong winds have already been blowing along the KwaZulu-Natal coast.

City manager, Sipho Nzuza says they are taking any chances, and all warnings issued by the weather service are being taken seriously.

“Our disaster management teams are well equipped to deal with any disaster within the city. But we need our communities to work with us by heeding our warnings at all times. We are now right in the middle of the summer season and all of us are fully aware how prone our city is to disasters emanating from bad weather at this time of the year," said Nzuza.

Meanwhile, temperatures are expected to drop tomorrow, with significant rainfall on the cards.

Forecaster Wisani Maluleke says similar conditions will likely persist until the end of the week.
