Dube appeared in Seshego Magistrate's Court in Limpopo on Thursday for the murder of seven women.

Themba Dube was initially arrested in November last year for possession of a suspected stolen phone.

The phone belonged to a woman who was allegedly kidnapped in Lebowakgomo in October last year.

Spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority in Limpopo Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi says the subsequent investigation led to the discovery of seven bodies dumped in different locations.

The bodies were spread around Seshego, Polokwane, Mankweng and Westenburg.

“It is alleged that he would lure women and promise them employment. He faces charges of seven counts of kidnapping and seven counts of murder.

"The victims have been positively identified by their next of kin, however, forensic investigations are already underway to determine if the bodies positively match those of the deceased,” says Malabi-Dzhangi.
