Sassa KZN operations hampered by crime

The South
African Social Security Agency says a recent spate of burglaries and break-ins
at 10 offices in KwaZulu-Natal has hampered some operations in the
province.

It says the Inanda Local Office branch has been targeted by criminals repeatedly.
The most
recent hit was yesterday.

Sassa's Mbizeni Mdlalose says 130 computers and laptops, as well as TV sets worth more than a R250,000 have been stolen to date.
He is appealing to community members to assist if they know anything.
“Those who might have information are requested to please contact Saps. We also wish to indicate that service delivery is also affected by this,” said Mdlalose.

“When people come to do their applications, we are unable to process the applications because of these recent incidents.”
