SARS employees expected back at work

South African Revenue Service workers are expected to return to their posts this morning following a nationwide strike yesterday.
Thousands of workers affiliated to Nehawu and the Public Servants Association downed tools, demanding higher wages.
This after negotiations with management deadlocked.
Workers have revised their demand down to 8 percent, with SARS offering up to 7 percent on a single term agreement.
SARS' remuneration and benefits executive, Takalani Musekwa says they can only afford to offer 7 percent if workers want a single term agreement across the board.
"However, if they want 8 percent, it comes with a three year agreement. They can consider either option," he said.
SARS management and labour unions will meet at the CCMA today.
