The council says while road safety will remain top of mind during October Transport Month, concerns have been raised about illegal activities taking place at taxi ranks.

The association spokesperson, Sifiso Shangase, says they will be roping in the South African Police Service to carry out raids.
"We can go and have a rank activation in that rank we will be visiting we will be searching in partnership with the police for drugs that are being sold there.
"We will also be searching for alcohol, which is illegally consumed and sold there and any other illegal operation that is taking place at the rank because the operation itself is intended to clean the rank."
