On Sunday evening, fires were reported in the King Cetshwayo, uThukela and uMzinyathi Districts.

KZN Cooperative Governance spokesperson Senzo Mzila says cars and homes were destroyed.

"MEC Thulasizwe Buthelezi has directed the provincial disaster management centre to coordinate additional support for those that have been affected by these fires that destroyed livelihoods.

"This will ensure that residents who are affected get the support they need in order to rebuild their lives."
