After two months of searching for the family of an unknown man who was hit by a car, police in KZN are now turning to the public for assistance.

Detectives in Richmond have made the appeal.
KZN police spokesperson Thenjiswa Ngcobo says on the day of the incident, the deceased, believed to have been in his forties, was wearing black jeans with a black t-shirt and a grey coat.

Ngcobo says the man was rushed to the nearest clinic, where he was declared dead.
She says officers are still trying to locate his family.
"A follow-up investigation to identify the deceased and locate his family proved fruitless as people in the area don’t know the deceased.
"Any person who may know the identity of the deceased or his relatives is urged to contact the Investigation Officer, Detective Warrant Officer Kunene, on 033 212 9458 or Crime Stop 08600 10111."
