Residents hit by Durban water crisis build lawsuit against City

eThekwini residents whose taps keep running dry are being asked to take their grievances to court.
Local activists are drawing up a joint action civil lawsuit against the
Municipality after households in Durban's southern and western parts were hit
with interruptions to their water supply.
The City's said some of the problems required repairs, like the Northdene 3 pump station which had experienced technical issues recently.

Community activist, Nilesh Maharaj says they approached attorney, Anand Nepaul for help, when families complained the cuts were a violation of their basic human rights.
"We are trying to get communities who were affected by the water crisis. This will add more evidence and substance to our case so we need more community members to come forward."
