Premier says province's low water levels are worrying
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
KZN Premier Willies Mchunu says while the recent rains are welcome - it's not all roses for the province.

He is delivering his State of the Province Address (SOPA) at the Pietermritzburg Royal Showgrounds.
Mchunu says the drought remains a real challenge.
"Even though the province has recently received good rainfall, we all understand that we are approaching the end of our rain season, and most of our major dam levels, still remain low," he said.

Mchunu says that this is particularly worrying, as according to the Department of Water and Sanitation, the current levels of KZN dams is still 13% below what it was in the same period last year.
Meanwhile, Umgeni Water says that despite an increase in dam levels due to the recent rainfall - the 15% water restrictions currently in place in KwaZulu-Natal won't be lifted just yet.
