KZN Premier to deliver State of Province Address
KZN Premier, Willies Mchunu is set to deliver his State Of the Province Address in Pietermaritzburg today.
King Goodwill Zwelethini officially opened the legislature yesterday - addressing a number of issues such youth unemployment, wasteful spending and a lack of resources in various rural communities.
"I know first-hand the challenges they are facing on a day-to-day basis. Thousands of them still walk miles to reach the next clinic or hospital. Those who are unfortunate - children, pregnant women and elders - die on their way to health facilities due to poor road infrastructure," he said.

Speaking after the king's speech, the ANC's Super Zuma said work is being done in these areas.
"There are a number of issues - but there's progress made in terms of health, agriculture and education. The king was clear on saying he would want to work together with the MEC," he said.
Members of the KZN Provincial Legislature and of the Royal Household as wells as party officials made their way to the Royal Agricultural Showgrounds yesterday for the opening of the legislature.
As per tradition Zulu King, Goodwill Zwelethini, officially opens the KZN legislature ahead of the province's State Of the Province Address.
