Water restrictions to continue in KZN
Updated | By Anelisa Kubheka
Despite an increase in dam levels due to the recent rainfall - the 15% water restrictions currently in place in KwaZulu-Natal won't be lifted just yet.
That's the word from Umgeni Water - which says in order for restrictions to be removed, Midmar Dam will have to overflow.
This is because Albert Falls relies on the water it receives from Midmar.

Gauteng said goodbye to water restrictions this week after the Vaal Dam reached its full capacity.
Umgeni's Shami Harichunder says Midmar is about 28% away from overflowing.
"We are hoping that recent rains that were received will ultimately see an improvement in Midmar Dam. It takes a few weeks for the water to make its way into dams, so that's where we are presently," he said.
