Police officer accused of rape in northern KZN

A 40-year-old police officer accused of raping his ex-girlfriend will remain behind bars until his bail application continues in the Ulundi Magistrates Court in northern KwaZulu-Natal.

The man made his second appearance in court yesterday, but bail proceedings did not wrap up.
Police watchdog, IPID has taken over the investigation.
It says the suspect was arrested two days later.
He allegedly attacked his ex-girlfriend in a police van last month.

The officer is due in court again on the 25th of October.
