Police hunt for killers of Ndwedwe station commander

Police in KwaZulu-Natal are looking to make arrests soon following the murder of a station commander in Ndwedwe, north of Durban.

Jabulani Ndawonde was shot dead in a drive-by shooting on Monday night near the Bhamshela taxi rank.
The 56-year-old colonel had been driving home in a state vehicle.
Police are trying to establish the motive for the killing.

National SAPS spokesperson, Vishnu Naidoo said: "It has been established from preliminary investigations that unknown occupants travelling in mini pick-up truck opened fire on the Colonel as they passed his vehicle.
"While the Provincial Commissioner of KwaZulu-Natal has mobilised the 72-hour Activation Plan, we are appealing to anyone who has any information on who may be responsible for this crime contact the police.
"Information may be communicated via the SAPS Crime Stop number 086 00 10111 or via the MySAPSApp"
