PHOTOS: Severe weather conditions keep emergency services busy

Emergency services in KwaZulu-Natal remain on high alert as heavy rain continues to fall in parts of the province.
The South African Weather Service says several areas in the province received more than 100mm of rain during a 24-hour period.
The measurements were made at 8am this morning.
The University of Zululand had received some 200mm of rain by this morning. 147mm were recorded at the Richards Bay Airport, while Riverview received 134mm.
The weather service has issued a warning for heavy rain in north eastern parts of KwaZulu-Natal.

Meanwhile, emergency services say they have received numerous callouts.
Although the exact circumstances leading many of the road accidents still have to be investigated, authorities are urging motorists to slow down and increase their following distance.
One man was killed when a car and a tanker collided on the N2 northbound carriageway in the vicinity of Tugela.
