Phoenix man accused of murdering wife denied bail

A Verulam court has decided that a Phoenix man who allegedly murdered his wife before setting their home on fire will remain behind bars.
40-year-old Kasilal Singh is accused of murdering his wife, Avina earlier this month.
Emergency services raced to the home in Stonebass Drive, north of Durban after being alerted to a house on fire.
The woman's body was found after firefighters extinguished the blaze.
The NPA's Natasha Kara says Singh lined up in the Verulam Magistrate's Court yesterday.
Singh will return to court on the 31st of July.
In the meantime, authorities will continue with their investigations.
The couple had two children together.

"The accused appeared in court for a decision on the bail application. Bail was denied in this matter," said Kara.
