Husband of murdered Phoenix woman taken into custody

Police have confirmed the husband of the woman found burnt to death in her home in Phoenix on Friday has handed himself over to police.
The victim is 40-year-old, Avina Singh.
Police spokesperson, Thulani Zwane says her 43-year-old husband was taken into custody yesterday at Durban North police station.
"He was then transferred to Phoenix to face these charges."
Zwane says on Friday, Singh was allegedly set alight while she was in the house in Phoenix.
"She died instantly and a case of murder and arson was opened by police. It is suspected that this man is linked to the murder and arson case."
Zwane says he will appear in court on Thursday.
