In the footage, the woman and man are seen arguing inside of the vehicle.

An altercation ensues and the man is seen trying to suffocate the woman.

It's believed the minibus was at the time loading passengers in Pietermaritzburg before travelling to Durban.

But it's not known at this stage when the incident happened. KZN police say a case hasn't been opened yet.

Social Development MEC Nonhlanhla Khoza has urged the victim to come forward.

"It doesn't matter what might have led to the men to act so cruelly against the defenceless woman.

“Our daily occurrences of women abuse, rape and murders need us as the society to be united in isolating those involved in such cruelty against women and children. We commend passengers who recorded the video for bringing this matter to our attention.”

She's also called on SANTACO to help police track down the perpetrator as it is their duty to rid the industry of such people to protect its image and business.
