Okhahlamba Speaker survives attempted hit

The Speaker of the Okhahlamba Local Municipality in KwaZulu-Natal's uThukela District has survived an apparent hit on his life.
The province's Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs says Sthembiso Zulu was on his way home from work when he came under fire.

The municipal vehicle he had been driving was shot 11 times.MEC Sipho Hlomuka says Zulu escaped with minor injuries.
Hlomuka says he is shocked and has condemned the assassination attempt on the Speaker's life, which comes days after an IFP councillor was gunned down in the province.
Mthembeni Majola was shot while driving in Estcourt last week.
His two passengers survived the attack.
