Suspected KZN police murderer due in court

A suspect linked to the murder of a police officer in Estcourt is due in court today.
Constable Nkosinathi Khumalo, who was off-duty at the time, was dragged out of his vehicle and shot three months ago.

The 35-year-old's attackers then fled with his car.The police's Jay Naicker says the 21-year-old suspect was caught in the Nhlawe area in Weenen when officers confronted an armed gang at the weekend.
There was a shootout and the suspect's alleged accomplice was killed.

"Together police recovered two AK-47s, an R5 rifle, an air gun and 101 rounds of ammunition at the crime scene," said Naicker.Show's Stories
