Community Safety concerned about ongoing killings in KZN

Police officers are continuing to monitor the area in Estcourt where an IFP councillor was gunned down last week.
Mthembeni Majola was shot while in his car. Two other people were hurt in Friday night's attack.

Community Safety officials have asked people not to speculate about what happened and to assist investigators where they can.The department's Mluleki Mntungwa says MEC Mxolisi Kaunda is concerned.
"As the province of KwaZulu-Natal, we are concerned that there are ongoing killings of leaders in our province," said Mntungwa.

Mntungwa says the department condemns the attacks and has called on authorities to leave no stone unturned as they investigate the murders."Not only those who pull the trigger must be brought to book, but also those who plot [the attacks]," continued Mntungwa.

Meanwhile, the IFP says Majola served the party with distinction and commitment.
