Officials evaluating damages at UKZN Westville
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Police say calm has been restored to the UKZN Westville campus after violent protests earlier.

Windows were damages, tyres as well as a vehicle was set alight.
Police earlier fired teargas and rubber bullets at the crowd of about 150 students.
Classes at all the university's campuses have been suspended.
Police spokesperson, Thembeka Mbele says officers remain on affected campuses.
A UKZN Westville student has detailed how protesters chased them off campus before torching a vehicle there this morning.
"They were singing, and standing. Things started off with [students] breaking glass in the cafeteria. So, we heard glass shatter and everyone started running. They burnt a tyre at C block and then everyone started running. Things then escalated from there. We were then getting chased from block to block. Before we knew it, there was a car on fire."
