Officer caught with casino chips released on bail

A Durban police officer who was allegedly caught with stolen casino chips earlier this week has been released on bail.

The officer, who is stationed at the Phoenix SAPS, was arrested on Tuesday.
"The suspect was found on the 30th of July and he has appeared in the Verulam Magistrate's Court," said Mbele.
Police say he had Sibaya Casino chips worth over R100,000.

Spokesperson Thembeka Mbele says he has been charged with possession of suspected stolen property."The suspect was found on the 30th of July and he has appeared in the Verulam Magistrate's Court," said Mbele.
Mbele says the man was nabbed when getting into a vehicle.
