Nongoma Mayor Albert Mncwango says they're now waiting for formal communication from the Zulu royal family on plans for a final send-off for Queen Mantfombi Dlamini-Zulu.

The regent passed away on Thursday in a Johannesburg hospital. Her death followed that of her husband, King Goodwill Zwelithini last month.
It's been relatively quiet at the queen's royal palace of KwaKhangela as family elders continue to meet behind closed doors.

"Expect for those essential services we will continue with those and also our disaster team will remain on full alert. So such services will continue to rendered but all other programmes have been put on hold."
Meanwhile, the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government has confirmed in a statement that Premiere Sihle Zikakala has requested President Cyril Ramaphosa to grant a state funeral for the Zulu Queen.
