No parole for Moodley & Pistorius, urges activist group
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
A women and children's activist group has welcomed the parole board's
recommendation that parole be denied for murderer Donovan Moodley

He made a bid for freedom at his parole hearing at the Johannesburg Correctional Centre.
After reviewing his application, it was the recommendation of the board that he not be given parole, with the decision now left in the hands of the Justice and Correctional Services Minister.
This was the second bid Moodley lost in his attempt to be released from prison - after he was denied parole in January last year.
He's serving a life sentence for murder, 15 years for kidnapping and 10 years for extortion linked to Bond University student Leigh Matthews' murder in 2004.

He's served almost 18-years of his life sentence.
NGO Women for Change says it agrees with Matthews' parents that Moodley serve his full sentence.
The group's hoping for a similar outcome in Friday's parole hearing of Oscar Pistorius, who was given 13-years behind bars for shooting and killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in 2013.
