New police commissioner for KZN

Community Safety and Liaison MEC, Mxolisi Kaunda has asked KwaZulu-Natal's new Police Commissioner to continue to ramp up the province's fight against crime.
Kaunda has welcomed the appointment of Khombinkosi Jula, saying he is looking forward to working with him.
Jula has been transferred from the Western Cape.
"The meeting will begin to highlight key activities that are essential, from our approach as government, to ensure we stabilise this province," said Ncalane.
"We have a clear plan of where we want to take this province. Through our engagement with police leadership, we have identified areas that need focus and attention."
The MEC says he will meet with Jula and outgoing Acting Police Commissioner, Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi this week.

Jula has been transferred from the Western Cape.
The department's Kwanele Ncalane says it is vitally important that all spheres of government work towards stabilising the province.
