Taxi driver shot dead at Phoenix filling station

Police are investigating a case of murder after a taxi driver was shot while filling the vehicle with petrol in Phoenix, north of Durban last night.

SAPS spokesperson, Nqobile Gwala says the 32-year-old had been at the filling station in Aberdare when an unknown suspect opened fire on him.
Gwala says the victim was taken to a local clinic but passed away due to the injuries he sustained.
"He was shot by unknown suspects and sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the body and was taken to the clinic where he died. A case of murder has been opened at Phoenix police station," Gwala said.
No arrests have been made.
