Msunduzi working on long-term solution for Vulindlela
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
Msunduzi Municipality is appealing for patience from residents of KwaVulindlela and surrounds.
It says it's working on a longer-term solution to supply water.
City mayor Mzimkhulu Thebolla says the area and other communities nearby have not enjoyed a consistent supply of the precious resource for as long as eight years owing to lack of infrastructure.

He says a decision was then taken to build a reservoir there.
An oversight visit was also conducted this week to the site.
Thebolla admits progress has been slower than expected because a pump station is still under construction.
"What we have decided to do is to do what we call water balancing. On certain days, some communities will have running water."

"On other days, we move over to other communities until that pump station that Umgeni Water is busy upgrading is running to a level where we all say we have enough supply to feed to communities of KwaVulindlela."
