Mount Edgecombe business owners call for action from cops
Updated | By Chanelle Lutchman
Business owners along Flanders Drive in Mount Edgecombe north of Durban say crime in the area is a major concern.
The comment comes after a security guard was killed in a hijacking yesterday morning. Another guard was hurt in the shooting. The vehicle they'd been travelling in had been transporting cigarettes in the area.
It's since been recovered but there've been no arrests yet. Glenton Naidoo owns a travel agency nearby.

He says his business has also been hit by crime.
"Where are the cops, where's the stake-out? I mean if there is a syndicate that's continuously operating in this area something needs to be done and some proactive measures need to be taken. That's my stance on it," he said.
