Lwazi Andile Tembe went missing a month ago.
He was last seen when he told his family he was going to visit his teacher in the Thengane Reserve area.
The teacher was arrested on Wednesday when Lwazi's body was discovered.
The 33-year-old man appeared before the Emanguzi Magistrate Court on Thursday, facing charges of murder and kidnapping.
The case was postponed to next week for a bail application.

Lwazi’s mother, Pretty Tembe says she never gave up hope that her son would be found.
"I am not happy with the arrest, because I don't think he could have done this alone. Looking at the distance from his house to the sports field where Lwazi's body was found, its evident that he had some sort of help."
"I say this because this is not the first time where boys from my community have been killed in this manor in the past two years," she said.
