The cross-examination of Mosia continued in the High Court in Pretoria on Monday.

Defence Advocate for accused number five, Zandile Mshololo, asked Mosia to take the court through his qualifications.

“Did you do any studies in respect to forensic investigations?” she asked.

Mosia replied: “I did B-Tech in forensic investigation in 2019.

Mshololo then asked Mosia if he had any qualifications when he attended to the crime scene in 2014.

“I did an internal course when I got to the Local Criminal Record Centre in 2008 and became a criminalistic expert in 2013,” Mosia answered.

“Those are my only training I did and as I already said that the B-Tech in forensic investigation I did in 2019.”

Mshololo continued to probe Mosia on his failure to complete the investigation.

"You have informed this court that you had at least received the basic training when you attended the crime scene. How come you said you left the crime scene because it was beyond your capabilities to do the investigation when you arrived on the crime scene?

"Based on the training that you received, you were supposed to continue with the investigation on the scene of the crime because you are eligible now. Therefore leaving the crime scene when you were supposed to continue with the investigation was unjustified."

But Mosia maintained that he handed over the crime scene to the relevant people through the proper channels.

"I've explained on numerous occasions the reasons that have left me to leave the scene of a crime and I believe that the proper handing over of the scene was done correctly."
