Meyiwa trial adjourns before witness answers Netflix question
The case against the five men accused of killing former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa in 2014 has been postponed until November.
Court proceedings adjourned before witness Tumelo Madlala could answer questions about how much he got paid for participating in the Netflix documentary on Meyiwa.
The case was adjourned shortly after state prosecutor George Baloyi objected to the question by defense counsel Advocate TT Thobane.

Thobane told the court that he believed that there was a causal link between the question he had posed and Madlala's answer.
"As I mentioned before, this issue is the main fact. There's a causal link between both issues. Hence the witness admitted that he did receive payment. The question is very easy, how much was the payment?"
The question remained unanswered after Baloyi's objection.
On Thursday, Madlala testified in court that the streaming service had approached him to provide it with Meyiwa's pictures.
He further told the court that he had requested that they pay him for his time and pictures, to which they conceded.

"Upon them contacting me, they told me that Netflix doesn't pay for having an interview with you and then I said to them the pictures are mine, it is my spare time. If you don't want to, then just leave it like that.
The documents are still there back home," said Madlala.
Madlala, who has described himself as Meyiwa's trusted friend, will return to the dock in November to continue with his cross-examination.
