MEC applauds emergency services for swift response after M1 crash

KZN Health MEC Sibongeni Dhlomo has applauded all emergency services for their swift response to this morning's bus crash in Chatsworth - which left three people dead, and over 70 injured.
Dhlomo visited some of the injured at the RK Khan hospital earlier today.

He says one of those who died was a pedestrian.
Dhlomo says everyone is receiving the help they need.
"There's one patient who is serious in there - having a chest drain now. All the other ones I visited in the various areas in the x-ray department, and they are being attended to. I have just now addressed the relatives about this matter to say that all of them will actually be taken care of, and the counsellors are here giving support. So thank you to the staff for their hard work, nurses and doctorsin this hospital have done very well," he said.
By midday today, half of the patients that were taken into the hospital where released after receiving treatment.
