Mzomuhle Dube is the spokesperson for the group calling for her return to office.

"The Hawks must present what they have, they have been requested to present their case in terms of preparations for the mayor, but they have had nothing coming forward. In fact, they have made a statement saying they are not obliged to make anything available to her," said Dube.

"For us, this means they do not have anything."

Dube says they will do whatever it takes to bring Gumede back to office.

"We will always refer to the same process that was followed to make a decision of whether she goes back or not. If that process was flawed and not perfect, we will then try and look for other remedial actions and perhaps recourse," said Dube.
