Maritzburg murder accused due in court

A Pietermaritzburg man accused of killing three pensioners while on a three-week murder spree last month is expected to make his first appearance before a magistrate today.
A man and two women, all in their late eighties and early nineties, were strangled and stabbed at retirement homes in the city centre.

The police's Thulani Zwane says one victim was also robbed of her TV and jewellery on Tuesday."The 28-year-old man who was linked to all three murder cases at the old age homes is due to appear in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate's Court facing three counts of murder. He was arrested on Tuesday when police received information on his whereabouts," said Zwane.
"He has been linked to the three incidents."

In the meantime, Zwane says the suspect is still being profiled and any potential links to other crimes in the area are being investigated.Show's Stories
