Investigation launched after Mariannhill man shot dead

Police are probing a mysterious killing in Durban's Outer West area yesterday.
Provincial spokesperson, Thulani Zwane says Mariannhill detectives are investigating charges of murder after a middle-aged man was gunned down just before 6.30pm yesterday.
"A 52-year-old man was shot and killed yesterday at Mariannhill. It is alleged that this man was seated in his vehicle at the Chestnut area when he was approached by a suspect and he was allegedly shot and killed," Zwane said.

Police say the man was shot in the head, and nothing was taken from him.
"The matter is still under investigation," Zwane said.
No arrests have been made yet.
