Man in Winston Park hit-and-run facing culpable homicide charge

A man is due in a Pinetown court today after allegedly knocking down a jogger and failing to report the accident.

The hit-and-run suspect faces charges of culpable homicide.
The 40-year-old runner was found on the side of the road in Winston Park near Hillcrest on Saturday.
Police spokesperson, Nqobile Gwala says the 43-year-old driver reported to a police station later that day.
"The suspect handed himself over in the afternoon after an incident that took place in the morning in Jan Smuts Avenue in Winston Park, near Hillcrest. A 40-year-old man was found with injuries next to the road. A case of culpable homicide was open for investigation," Gwala said.
