Man critically hurt in La Lucia substation fire

He is understood to have run about 60 metres down the road -- away from the substation.
Crisis Medical's Kyle van Reenen says the man sustained 100 percent burns to his body and is in a critical condition.
Paramedics treated him on scene before he was taken to hospital by ambulance for further care.

Van Reenen says initial indications are that the man may have been sleeping in the substation."It is unknown at present as to what caused the fire."
He said the necessary authorities were on scene and will be investigating the incident further.

Some of grassed area around the substation also caught alight.
Nearby homes have been left without electricity.
