Man arrested in connection with Phoenix double murder

KZN police have arrested a 62-year-old man in connection with the murders of a woman and a toddler in Phoenix, north of Durban.
The 34-year-old and her two-year-old daughter were both attacked with a bush knife at their Mount Royal home on Wednesday.
She died at the scene - the little girl passed away while she was being transported to hospital.
The police's Jay Naicker says the man - who'd been on the run - was arrested on Thursday morning.

"The suspect originally fled into the bushes yesterday [Wednesday] and police cornered off the area and searched for him throughout the night.
"He was spotted returning to the house where the murder took place in the early hours of this morning and he was arrested."
