Magashule and uMkhonto we Sizwe Military Veterans Association president, Kebby Maphatsoe were locked in a meeting at the ANC's KZN offices in Durban on Tuesday.

MK vets say the ANC hasn't delivered on the promises it made over two decades ago - to provide them with housing and other services.

Magashule says it's a shame that those who fought for democracy are still struggling.

"It is not going to take us 26 years. We are going to come with a programme of action which we are going to give to your leaders.

"We are going to do what they have actually requested us to do. All what they said are genuine demands. Things will change from today comrades. We promise."

There are also calls for the disbandment of the current MKMVA leadership in KZN because its term has expired.

Maphatsoe says there needs to be unity.

"The unity of the soldiers is of paramount importance and therefore the meetings that we held were very fruitful and we are looking forward to another meeting that will be held which will conclude the discussions that we have started today."

ANC in KZN will meet with disgruntled MK Vets in Durban again on Wednesday, to thrash out issues including calls to disband the Association's PEC in the province.

That's what the military veterans are asking for, as well as the dissolution of regional structures.

Addressing members outside the ANC's offices yesterday, Magashule said some of their demands can only be handled by the party's leadership.

"I will be talking to the president of the ANC, the national chairperson of the ANC, the treasury general, the deputy president and the deputy secretary-general and to comrade Sihle and our mayors."
