The rape and murder of student Uyinene Mrwetyana has shaken the country and re-ignited calls for action against gender-based violence.

At the same time, foreign nationals and their businesses have been under siege in Johannesburg and Pretoria for several days now.

This as locals loot their livelihoods and destroy their property.
